I haven't posted anything in a while, as I have just been crazy busy at Uni. Third year is mental - just when you think you've got everything under control something else pops up, that combined with having a 13 year old son, means panic is beginning to set in. Thank goodness I opted out of Honors other wise I'd be a gibbering mess!!
So hope to update with some more photo's soon.

Glass casting experiment

| 1. pressing the poppy heads and leaves into clay |

| 2. make a 'cow pat' by pouring a plaster mix over the clay, we did this 3 times |
 |
| 3. once the plaster is set, the clay is peeled away 4. the glass is added to the top of the plaster mould & then it's fired in the kiln (for this experiment I used 2 layers of 3mm float glass) |
 |
| 5. result!! I am pleased but would of liked it to have a bit more definition, so it's back in the kiln tonight with just 1 layer of 6mm glass, fingers crossed!! |

Sandblast poppy centre

| Float glass base with 3 fused circle layers, top smaller circle deep blast with fablon resist, outer circles have pva resist and a light sandblast. |

| The sun can do amazing things even on a very cold February day!! |

| I love this, just by adding orange/red backing glass it is totally transformed!! |
